Whether you are a thrill-seeking daredevil or a committed “Happy Hacker”, there is sure to be a riding holiday to suit you . The choice of country and terrain is enormous and you can opt for a blissful week of escape from the family in beautiful and unspoilt surroundings. Alternatively, make it a family treat – even if some of the clan are totally non-horsey. The first thing to consider with any riding holiday is your true level of riding ability and stamina. A weekend-only novice will be neither safe nor happy on a mad three day gallop across Botswana. Similarly, a week trekking with beginners at walk will not appeal to experienced jockeys. The large number of riding holiday providers generally accept the following as sensible summaries of riding ability;- Beginner: A rider with very limited experience, is unable to mount and dismount unassisted, and unable to post to the trot or canter. Novice: A rider who has some riding experience, is able to mount and dismount unassisted, is in control of a well-behaved horse and confident for short periods of rising trot and canter. Intermediate: A rider with all of the novice skills, has a firm seat, is comfortable at all paces and capable of riding for several hours at a time. The intermediate rider is also able to tack up a horse if required. Experienced: A competent and regular rider who is capable of adapting to different horses in different environments. An experienced rider has soft hands and is able to control a spirited horse in open country. Other points to consider. Weight Limit Some riding trips have a weight limit which generally appears to be approximately 95 kilos (around 15 stones). In most cases you will be provided with a bigger horse and in some instances there will be a surcharge but it is always wise to contact your holiday provider as there may be a limited number of horses available for guests exceeding this weight level. Children Depending on the trip, children may join the ride. Discounts may be available in some cases. It is definitely worth checking even if the kids are staunchly anti-Equestrian as many of the holiday providers can accommodate non-riding guests. Insurance This is an absolute must for any holiday and should be an important consideration in booking your trip. Preparing for your holiday Once you have determined the riding experience, age and ability of the group members, you can go ahead and book your holiday. Whether you are experienced riders or not, you are still likely to be spending considerably longer than usual in the saddle on a daily basis so expect some aches and pains! Many repeat riding holiday enthusiasts go on several short riding weekends prior to a longer holiday so that they can really get the best out of the experience on every level. With riding holidays available in England, Scotland Wales and Ireland, we have plenty of choice on our doorsteps but there is a huge choice of trips in France, USA, and even Africa and Asia. The choice is yours….

Bavaria travel guide
Bavaria is Germany’s largest state and is located in the southern region of the country. There are resorts, hotels and private rentals located throughout the state. The first step is to decide which areas you most want to visit and plan an itinerary. Then you can begin to decide on accommodations. A variety of choices are available from the more affordable hotels to the more expensive resorts. Information on hotels and other rentals can be found and reserved online. Hotels and Dining Bavaria is home to large cities such as Munich and many smaller resort towns as well. There is a range of vacation and accommodation opportunities around the state. Smaller resort towns, such as Prien, are smaller than Munich, but still offer plenty to do. Hotels, shops and restaurants are all in walking distance from the train station. The same is true for Munich. In many resorts, bus services are offered to and from the resort to surrounding attractions. If you plan to stay in the resort and use the bus service, you may not need to rent a vehicle during your stay. If you want to branch out and explore more of the surrounding areas of the region, or if you just want the freedom to go on your own schedule, you may want to rent a car. There are thousands of restaurants throughout Bavaria for dining. Schweinsbraten is a common food in most places. This is a pork roast with dumplings and gravy. Fresh fish, such as trout and salmon are common foods in the area and are served in most restaurants. Bavaria is home to many beer halls that serve traditional German cuisine with a variety of local beers. Sightseeing in Bavaria Bavaria is home to a few castles you can explore. These were built by King Ludwig II. The castle is ornate and resembles Versailles in Paris. The castle and surrounding gardens are open for touring. The areas around the Herrenchiemsee castle have plenty of activities, such as swimming, fishing, hiking, bicycling, boating and windsurfing. Herrenchiemsee castle was intended to be a replica of Versailles. It has manicured gardens, elaborate decorations and a hall of mirrors. The original plan called for seventy rooms, but it was never finished. There are twenty rooms in the finished part of the castle. Ludwig was declared mentally unfit to rule and was removed from the throne before his plans could be carried out. Bavarians Forest Zoo has over 300 native animals in natural surroundings. You will see elks, bison, water birds, birds of prey, owls, wild cats, deer, otters, badgers, cranes and fish in the zoo. A main focus is on protecting endangered species, research and preserving the natural habitat of the animals. Bavaria is home to a wild west theme park. Pullman city is located just north of Munich and has a typical American wild west theme. The park features re-enactments of gun fights, Indians and stage coaches. The main street area is complete with plank sidewalks and clap board facades on replica buildings. It is reminiscent of western towns commonly seen in the movies and old western television series. The park has activities like shooting galleries, music and rodeos. There are re-enactments of the American Civil War at the park. Guests are often seen dressed up in cowboy or Indian costumes, both adults and children. Lodging at the park includes hotels, log cabins and even teepees. This allows guests to experience the wild west all day in the park and at night as well.

New york limos aren t just for business
When most people think of New York limos, those shiny black luxury cars, they think of LaGuardia airport transportation or Newark airport transportation, or perhaps picking up and dropping off business people. The New York limousine business does that, of course, but they also perform a whole variety of other services, some of which you may not be familiar with: Limos can be rented for all sorts of events, from weddings to graduations to proms to a night on the town or going to a ball game. Just imagine: Planning for a wedding is a big, stressful project where any number of things can go wrong. Staying on schedule is supremely important and everyone needs to be there on time. Making sure a large number of people get there safely and enjoyably in New York City is a job for professionals, and a limo service can do it. Whether is just that certain something special for the bride and groom after they exchange their vows, or comfortable transportation for the entire bridal party or the families, luxury car services can make sure that everything goes off like clockwork. Your guests will appreciate it. Ever feel the need to really kick back and enjoy an evening of visiting the finest clubs? If you do, you know that time can get away when you party. And there's nothing worse to ruin a great evening and mood than to have to wait for a cab or walk when you can't find one. At the end of the night you may well be quite exhausted, and then it's certainly good to know you'll be driven back to your hotel or home safe and sound. Oh, and if you don't like waiting in line, limo drivers can often cut them for you. Should things get a bit wild, you can be assured that limo drivers are discrete and courteous and will take good care of you. If you plan on going to catch a ballgame with your buddies or business associates, why not do it in style and rent a limo? The leading New York limo companies can accommodate any size group. You can ask for a late model luxury car, such as an S-Class Mercedes or a 7-Series BMW, you can get a stretch limo, a stretch SUV, or even a specially equipped bus with all the luxury you'd expect in a limo. Groups with as many as 20 can easily be accommodated. Not only do you arrive fresh and with a touch of class, but the limo will be waiting for you when the game is over, even if it goes into overtime or extra innings. Want to reward your son or daughter for their academic achievements? Why not make graduation a day to remember forever not only for finally being done with school, but also for being taken there in a Stretch Hummer or something equally outrageous? They will never forget it and it costs less than you think. So next time you see a shiny black New York limos, remember that they're not just for business. Think what using a limo could do for you!

Galveston cruises
Nothing resembling the Galveston cruise port that exists today harbored ships coming to Galveston in the year 1900. Much of that old port washed away during the unnamed hurricane that blew ashore in early September of that year. Motivation for creation of a new port (and an entire new city) became evident on September 9, 1900, the day following that storm. The bells of the Ursuline Convent sounded on that day. Travelers on present day cruises from Galveston, Texas might want to listen for sounds similar to the sounds made by those tolling bells. Then perhaps they could imagine the sounds of those bells being carried over a part of Galveston harbor. The travelers would, of course, need to realize that the Galveston Cruise Terminal did not exist back in September of 1900. In fact, only a fraction of the buildings in Galveston remained standing after that September storm had pounded on the Galveston shores. At least 1600 homes had to be rebuilt by the residents who stayed in Galveston after September 9, 1900. Yet the challenge of rebuilding did not drive people out of Galveston, To the contrary, volunteers from Houston came to Galveston in order to aid the rebuilding efforts. Those Houston visitors did not get much of a reward for their efforts. They could not leave the rebuilt City on a Galveston cruise line. No one could offer the Houston guests tickets for a discount cruise. Galveston extended whatever hospitality it could, but that hospitality had its limits. During the rebuilding, the City had been filled with pumps, sludge, stench, canals and long catwalks. The work of those volunteers, combined with that of the City residents, laid the framework for a new City. Today that City frequently harbors a Carnival cruise line. Galveston residents can stand on the dock and watch the cruises departing Galveston. In addition, the rebuilt City has attractions that draw ships into Galveston harbor. On repeated occasions, the ship coming into the City harbor has been a Galveston cruise line. The occupants on that ship were thus returning from a Galveston Texas cruise. They returned to a city where the residents felt prepared for whatever nature might send their way. Today the residents of Galveston relish the chance to show-off their rebuilt City. They take pride in the fact that their City has been chosen as a stopping point for Carnival cruises. The residents of Galveston understand the extent to which cruises out of Galveston, TX help to swell the coffers of the government treasury. Maybe the residents participating in the rebuilding efforts appreciated the financial benefits expected in Galveston. Maybe they saw that what the sea can take away it can also return.
